About ReadingPub

ReadingPub is a room with things worth reading on the walls. You write an article, it goes up, and people read it. That is the whole shape of the place.

Publishing is free. Permanently.

Not free-for-now, not free-until-we-raise. Writing and publishing an article on ReadingPub costs nothing and always will. There is no subscription, no paywall on your readers, and no cut of anything you earn elsewhere. The plain editor is free forever.

What you can pay for, if you want to

Two one-time unlocks, nine dollars each, yours forever once bought: a rich text editor for people who want real formatting, and an AI writing assistant for people who want help with a draft. Neither is required to publish, and neither is a subscription. Buy them once or never.

No algorithm

Nothing here decides what you should read. Articles are listed fresh-first, and the popular list is counted from what people actually opened -- not from what was paid for or what kept you scrolling longest. There is no feed to game.

How it is paid for

By the narrow column of ads down the left edge -- one 40-pixel-wide rail, one advertiser per block. That rail is the only advertising on the site: no interstitials, no tracking pixels, no ad network, nothing that follows you off the page. The inventory is sold by Pixboard (pixboard.ad), which is a separate site; ReadingPub renders the rail, Pixboard sells it.

Every article is read before it goes up

Submissions are moderated. Each published article carries one outbound link, marked nofollow -- it is there for readers, not for search rankings, which keeps the place useful instead of turning it into a link farm.
